Charles, thanks for this sad and hopeful and yet ultimately sad piece about a sport we loved. Just reminding me of what the Met Mile was to so many of us, breaks my heart. But...yes, perhaps a good Saratoga meet and for some fun where the sea meets the turf or whatever goes on out there. First Santa Anita, now Churchill, with the break downs and the media so quick to put it in the spotlight. I worry for the horses the most. They are so fragile without us, so fragile with us. Makes no sense.
